I am a musician, producer and business owner who has worked in the Los Angeles entertainment industry for nearly 20 years. I have known and worked with Jose Amaral consistently over the last two years, both in the Cicada club in downtown L.A., and at Memories in Whittier. From our very first conversation, I found Jose to be engaging, affable and easygoing. He has that rare ability to remain comfortable in any situation or interaction, putting those around him at ease as well.
Jose's demeanor, however, should not give one the impression that he does not "take care of business." As a sound engineer, booking agent and promoter he consistently demonstrated a high level of responsibility, conscientiousness and attention to detail. In a business often known for a lack of professionalism, Jose is that rare gem - consistently responsible and reliable at all times.

Jose Amaral ran my weekly event, the Tuesday Night Dance At Joe's at Joe's Bar & Grill for approximately 6 weeks while I was away on tour last summer, and has also filled in for me on several other occasions.
Duties included hosting and MC-ing the night, DJ-ing, setting up the stage and DJ area, running the sound for the bands, paying the bands, and being the go-to guy for just about anything that might come up. He is professional, responsible, and reliable in his duties and an excellent DJ as well. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others.

When I walk into a dance venue and see that Jose is the DJ, I'm sure it's going to be a great night! He knows how to "read" a crowd and play good music that will keep the dance floor filled all night. He is approachable, friendly and plays a song request without making you wait hours to hear it. I think his background as a dancer also makes his playlists much better than most of the DJ's out there. I recommend him highly! by

As Producer for the Satin Dollz, it is the nature of our business to perform in a variety of venues with various sound and lighting scenarios. One of our more involved productions has been "Rhythm and Rouge" at the Cicada Club. With multiple sets, costume changes, lighting, 12 piece orchestra etc. to coordinate, I always knew as a producer I could rely on Jose at the Cicada Club to manage our sound flawlessly. He always took such good care of us and made sure the balance between singers and musicians and the audience was perfect. I only wish I could have him as our full time sound engineer.

We've hired Jose Amaral on many occasions for sound, disc jockey services and even promotions, and have never been disappointed. When it came to sound, he not only worked with the sound board that was provided, but he would bring in extra software to enhance the "live" sound of the band to sound bigger and cleaner than it already was! When we hired him as a disc jockey for weddings and corporate events, he knew just how to read the crowd and had an expansive collection of music which allowed for him to take requests almost instantaneously! When it came to promotions, he would help us out and make us feel like a band is supposed to feel. We are the band and it's our job to provide the music, but a promoter is the one who promotes the show and brings in the crowds. We will definitely say that Jose has helped our fan base jump up quite a bit because when he recommends something, people know it's good. Our relationship with Jose goes back to 2005 when we first met him at Memories in Whittier, Ca. As a professional, Jose is always reliable and definitely one of the hardest working men I've had the pleasure of meeting. In addition to all of this, he has been very reliable in providing us with sources and contacts for any job we need when he knows it is something that is not in his field of expertise. We are happy to know Jose as a professional, and because of the great relationship we've grown over the years, we are also happy to call him our friend. Thank you Jose!
